Paper Lanterns

Download our butterfly template. Use the template with your favorite paper for tracing and cutting your designs. Glue the center of the butterflies onto your paper lanterns, fold the wings of butterflies up and allow glue to dry.

Drinking Straws

Follow the same steps above for downloading and tracing the butterflies. Next, cut two small slits in the center of the butterfly and weave drinking straw through bottom and top slits.

Make some baby shower sweet treats for your guests to take home. Here’s an easy shower favor you can make. This idea is from jugglingwiththekids.com.

The supplies you will need:

chocolate candies, butter or fancy mints.
snack size zip locks
clothes pins
decorating materials

Instead of the kiddie snacks, add gourmet candies. Seal the bag and add a decorated clothes pin to the center. That’s it!

TIP: To decorate the clothes pin, try using small strips of designer duct tape. You can find decorated tape in most stores.

Baby shower cupcake ideas

These little butterflies are really easy to do. Use pretzels to make the wings, frosting drops to create the body, m&m’s for the head, and shoe-lace licorice for the antennas!

Simply press pretzels into frosting at an angle, then add the rest of the pieces that make up the butterfly.

If mommy-to-be prefers cake, this is a very simple baby shower cake. Use a 9×11 baking pan, cake mix (homemade or ready-mix), and frosting. Just be sure the cake is cool before you cut it.

This is as simple as adding a game or activity to your party. One game idea I love is, Baby Book Trivia. It’s easy and guests enjoy it! Here’s what you do: Grab a copy of the classic children’s book The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Read the book to your guests (or just a few selected pages). Next, quiz your guests on the material you just read. The person to write down the most correct answers wins the game. Guests can also play in team of two and shout out the answers.
